My mother said to me once, “But to create something new…” she continued on. I was describing how I could be a CEO of a company after college, how I wanted be the most powerful person in a company and be an “actual” business woman.

My mother has been a typical businesswoman, and of course I admired her, but I wanted to more that just working for others. It may seem overly childish for me to say “I am going to be an CEO!” or “I will create a company and make millions of dollars!”, I know, it’s overly optimistic.

But what is life when you don’t go out and try, right?

Ever since I was a little kid I found myself with a passion for entrepreneurship and business, even though I didn’t know those terms at the time. I ran a small business by myself from primary to middle school, selling my old toys for profit so I could buy the new models.

In high school, having grown up a bit, I wanted to do more than create a simple buy-and-resell operation for profit.

And so,

my friends and I brought MIT’s LaunchX program to my high school.

Together we worked to implement trainings, helping our members to brainstorm ideas and to eventually create a startup company ourselves; through this I realized how important teamwork is when creating a business, and how much easier it is to create something more substantial when you aren’t on your own.
